The Dryadius Statue Unlocked as another world starts to be revealed.
over 5 years ago – Sun, Oct 14, 2018 at 08:27:55 PM

The Dryadius Statue has been unlocked with the 240K USD (363K NZD) mark achieved.

Like every building, the statues carry their own stories that add to the enigmatic world of Hagglethorn Hollow.

The Dryadius are a species of Fairy whose bark-like exoskeletons, branch like limbs and duel sets of leafy wings perfectly camouflage them amongst the canopies where they make their nests. Dryadius have been known to populate dense forests where a Queen can make her court-nest in a well-guarded, centrally occupied tree.

Like the Dryadius statue, the stone carvings about the township of Hagglethorn Hollow hint at its mysterious past and a world hidden within a world. Soon, even more secrets shall be revealed.

600 Backers! Gauling Gate Unlocked and more Bonus Add-ons!

We have had a busy time over the last day with the campaign reaching the 600 backer milestone, the Gauling Gate Stretch Goal unlocked and even more bonus add-ons revealed.

The latest Add-ons give you the option to purchase the roof sections individually. For example, if you have pledged for the "The Wizarding District", you can now add on a range of thatched roofs to expand your play options without doubling up on bases.

Many of the Roofs have also been designed to function as standalone buildings, giving even more variety and scope to your gameplay.

More Stretch Goals, Add-ons and other exciting news coming soon!

As we cross the halfway mark we thought, why not take this a step further..."

As soon as we launched this campaign, we started receiving a variety of questions about model making, painting tips & tricks, design influences, custom terrain boards, sculpting, environments and so much more. We love sharing knowledge and will always do our best to answer as many questions as we can. It’s an awesome hobby and a great community to be a part of.

With so many great questions, we looked at the best way to present the information to the community catering to both the person just starting in the hobby, to the seasoned gamer and model maker; for those who wanted more behind-the-scenes info to those who wanted more instructional tips & tricks. With the immense level of interest across multiple aspects of this project, we have decided to produce a very special publication; The Art and Making of Hagglethorn Hollow.

The result will be a hardcover book, estimated at 120 pages, written and illustrated by Johnny Fraser-Allen. Designed by award winning graphic designer, Monique Hamon whose recent work includes the epic 512 page tome, Middle Earth - From Script to Screen.

This book will provide a behind-the-scenes insight into the world of Hagglethorn Hollow, while breaking down many of the key pieces exploring their design, paint schemes and functionality, providing more “how-to” elements to the book. As we mentioned in an earlier post, it will be the community that will influence much of the content as we compile the most popular questions and let that dictate much of the books content.

We’ve also asked some of our favorite creative artists to contribute to the book giving further insights into the world of art and design. So far these include:

  • A masterclass paint workshop with Jules German, a senior painter from Weta Workshop, whose work can been seen on a wide range of Weta’s collectibles.
  • A custom sculpting tool tutorial by Jamie Beswarick, the sculptor behind Gollum and Grishnákh from The Lord of the Rings and much more.
  • A step by step guide for professionally set dressing and customizing your Hagglethorn Hollow buildings to a film shoot standard by Steven Saunders, the Miniature Art Director for Blade Runner 2049 and lead model maker for Thunderbirds are Go.

Additional guest contributors from the film, gaming, and model making industries will be announced as the book is compiled.

The book will be available as a bonus Add-on once we hit the 300K USD mark. It will also be offered at a price exclusive to Kickstarter. As a final thanks to the community for their support, every backer will also be credited in this publication.

Thanks again everyone, we are halfway there on this fantastical journey!

More Add-ons added, and a big reveal soon!

As we approach the halfway point of the Kickstarter, we have been reflecting on the incredible journey so far. Due to the unique nature of Hagglethorn Hollow, we believed that the audience it would find would also be unique and that their voice would play a vital role in how the campaign would evolve. The latest Add-ons reflect just that with more coming soon.

Plus, we will soon reveal an additional bonus product that was significantly influenced by the Hagglethorn Hollow community!

Thanks again and please keep sharing, liking and rioting!

We're also working on something really exciting that we aim to announce at the halfway point of this campaign. No spoilers sorry!
